From Erfurt main station you can take the train to Weimar, which takes about 15 minutes. Or you can drive the highway and you´ll be in Weimar in less than 30 minutes.

Especially after a long flight or when you arrive late at night the Airport Hotel is a good choice to spend the night. Located just a two minutes´ walk from the Terminal the hotel offers comfortable rooms for you to relax in.
You can find two Erfurt tourist information offices in the city centre of Erfurt where you will find helpful information for your travels through Thuringia. One is located near the Krämerbrücke and the other one near the Erfurt Cathedral. Also, you can find a Thuringian tourist information office just opposite the main station.

There is a lot to do in Thuringia’s capital: Erfurt has a large number of interesting museums and impressive architecture and especially Erfurt Cathedral, Severikirche and Krämerbrücke are worth a visit. After a long day of sightseeing the egapark, one of the largest parks in Germany, is a nice place to relax.
Another interesting place for you to visit is Weimar, the European City of Culture. Besides of the houses of Goethe and Schiller there are impressive historic sites like the library of Anna-Amalia with its famous rococo-style hall, the municipal church of St. Peter and Paul as well as the city palace. The highlight of every tour is a visit of the Bauhaus-Museum, one of the UNESCO world heritage sites.
You can fly to Erfurt-Weimar Airport from all over the world for example using one of the cheap flight connections with Emirates, S7, Delta to Munich and then continue flying to Erfurt with Cirrus Airlines for as low as 99 euro return. But there are also a lot of direct low cost flights to Erfurt, for example with Air Berlin or Sky Airlines.
