Tours at Erfurt-Weimar Airport

We offer a “special type” of airport tour, which you can choose to round off with a themed menu at the Airport Hotel restaurant.

The tour
Duration: approx. 90 minutes
The meeting point is at the information desk in Terminal B. After the security checks, you’ll experience flight operations first hand with a journey over the airfield. You will be able to see the airport’s buildings and facilities from a whole new perspective.

How does an airport operate? Which routes must passengers take? What happens to a plane between landing and take-off? What does an airport fire department do? What tasks does the helicopter police unit undertake?

Many questions surrounding the exciting goings-on in the airport will be answered on the tour. By experiencing the operations first hand, you will observe what is necessary to keep air traffic running smoothly.

The journey over the illuminated runway and the visit to the airport fire department with a demonstration of a fire engine provide further highlights of this behind-the-scenes tour.

Photography is permitted on the tour with a few exceptions.
At the end of the tour, you are encouraged to round off the day at the Airport Hotel restaurant or Airport Bistro and to treat yourselves to some delicious food.
